25kw/33bhp power restriction

Standard motorcycle licence (A2)
If your test vehicle is between 120 and 125cc and capable of more than 100kph, you will be given a standard (A) licence. You will then be restricted to motorcycles of up to 25kW for two years. After two years you may ride any size machine.

Power Restrictors
If you're on a UK Restricted License then you're not permitted to ride a motorcycle producing more than 33bhp / 25KW for the first 2 years. Fitting of the legal requirement restrictor kit allows you to ride the bike of your dreams and at the end of your restriction,
simply have the restrictor taken off and enjoy your machine at full manufacturers power!

NOTE: Restrictor kits can only be fitted by an approved and qualified dealer. Fitting also registers the restriction into the FI International master database and this will generate a certificate that you will receive from us, (approved dealer / fitting centre) as proof of restriction.

Certificates
Once a kit is correctly installed the fitter will sign THREE certificates. The customer must also sign all three certificates.
The customer will be advised to read and acknowledge points 1 - 6 on the important notes.

The customer is given one certificate as proof a restriction kit has been fitted to your bike and may need to be shown to your insurance company or the police should they be requested.

A second certificate is returned to F I International. This is very important as it is proof they keep on file that the motorcycle has been restricted. This will be held on file at F I International in case the insurance company or crown prosecution service should require it.
The dealer / fitting centre keep certificate three for our own records.

Restriction kits are fitted in our workshop. Cost is normally £195 - £240 depending on the motorcycle.
This includes supply and fitting of the restriction kit and all the relevant paperwork & certificates.
